Holmes Hopes To Deliver Toyota A Win At Showdown In January

Eric Holmes became the first driver to win a NASCAR Camping World Series race in a Toyota, and the first driver to win a NASCAR Camping World Series championship in a Toyota. Now he would like to become the first driver to win the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown in a Toyota.

“I think that would be a great match to win the Toyota All-Star Showdown at Toyota Speedway in a Toyota Camry,” said Holmes. “I think there’ll be a little pressure from Toyota on us to go there and try to win the race.”

Testing Suspended In 2009 For Camping World, National Series

In an effort to help teams manage costs, NASCAR is suspending testing for its three national and two regional racing series for the 2009 season.

Testing for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the NASCAR Nationwide Series, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, as well as the NASCAR Camping World East and West Regional Touring Series at tracks hosting any of those events are included in the 2009 policy.

Dillon looks to get fresh start at Toyota All-Star Showdown

Austin Dillon had a nearly perfect season: He was the top rookie in the NASCAR Camping World Series East, won his first NASCAR race and nearly knocked off series veteran Matt Kobyluck for the series championship.

The 18-year-old from Lewisville, N.C., now has his sights set on the biggest race of the NASCAR short-track racing calendar: The NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown. Thursday, Dillon joined Kobyluck as drivers to officially commit to running ‘the Daytona 500 of short-track racing.’
